Take Control of Your Kitchen

Step 1: If you are ready to make lifestyle changes and start eating healthy it's time to clean out the kitchen. You want to get rid of anything that will tempt you during this change. Start by getting a large trash bag and throw away all of the unhealthy over processed junk food in your cabinets and fridge. Anything you crave late at night needs to be gone, because if it stays you will most likely cheat at the end of the day and indulge in that sweet sugary food.

Step 2: After getting rid of the unhealthy items, educate yourself on how to read nutrition labels and ingredients. You might think that a food is healthy but once you read the label you will see the amount of fat and sodium in that item.

Step 3: Now open up your freezer. Do you see ice cream and frozen tv dinners? If yes, throw them away. You should be seeing frozen fruits and vegetables or even meats.

Step 4: Now that you have removed all the bad items out of your kitchen it's time to go shopping! Read the labels in the store and buy fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and low fat dairy products.
